Shameeka M. Jelenewicz

An applied sociologist with over 14 years experience developing, implementing and managing evaluation projects. Her experience includes conducting community-based projects related to social science research, positive youth development and place-based capacity building efforts. To a large extent, her work has focused on adolescents and young adults in the fields of education, out-of-school time programs, and reproductive and sexual health.

She posses strong research methodology skills, both quantitative and qualitative with extensive experience in study design, question construction, pilot testing of instruments and database development. She has extensive project management experience ensuring the daily progress of project work plans, monitoring the management of surveys and other data collection and supervision of project staff. Shameeka’s works has been published in peer-reviewed journals and she has presented her work at various local and national conferences.

Additionally, Shameeka was an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminal justice at Towson University in Maryland for over eight years where she introduced students to the field of Sociology.

Shameeka holds a Maters of Arts degree in Applied Sociology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and a Bachelors of Arts degree in sociology from the University of Maryland, College Park.
